Turbo hydramatic is the trade name of a family of automatic transmissions created and launched by general motors. Turbo 350 transmission was first time used in 1969 model motor cars. Though the name turbo hydra-matic appears on it, but the design and model are not the making of the hydra-matic division of general motors.

Some may suggest that the turbo 350 transmission was based on the Buick Super turbine 300; some parts exchange between these two. Both Chevrolet and Buick partitions produced the THM 350. The turbo 350 transmission was also declared as a three speed power glide and during its development, was basically called this. In fact, it also uses the same torque convertor as the THM 400, it has a ancestral resemblance to the Aluminium power glide 1962-1973 from Chevrolet and was greatly designed by Chevrolet. The basic difference in the turbo 350 transmission compared to the THM 400 is there is no permanent center support midway through the gear train. This basic and important difference in its layout permitted turbo 350 transmission to be adapted to the Corvair where the driven elements are same.

Air cooled versions of the turbo 350 transmission appeared in Chevrolet Vega and Nova 6 in mid 1972. Engineered to dominate and rule, the turbo 350 transmission is hard enough to withstand the rigors of the even the toughest street machines delivering tire turning shifts race after race. It is best deal for cars and other vehicles powered by engines producing up to four hundred horsepower with a non supercharged system utilizing pump gasoline. It is equipped with an automatic valve structure; most units permit you to manually shift the vehicle into every gear change. You can select usual drive position. This will have no effect on strength of the transmission.

The turbo 350 transmission is a three speed automatic transmission and its latest technology in the industry with only the best internal parts for increased durability, excellent dependable performance and torque competence. Turbo 350 transmission is thoroughly inspected, blue printed and tested to ensure that your savings is utterly flawless. For this turbo transmission to operate properly, all strangle linkage, vacuum lines and kick down components must be connected and adjusted technically and properly. These transmissions gave way to four and five speed automatics but engaged its name. The General motors hydramatic 350 is called the power glide and runs un drag racers.
